Most of the tropical orchids grown in greenhouses in the temperate zone produce their spectacular and exotic flowers in autumn and winter, and the orchid house in the Botanical Garden also shows its most magnificent face at this time. Our collection presents more than 250 individuals of about 50 genera, among them are the so-called botanical species and hybrids as well. Most of our tropical orchids lead a greenhouse and tree-dwelling (epiphytic) lifestyle, but there are also soil-dwelling ones, such as the extremely exotic-looking slipper orchids. Among our orchid species that require colder conditions, our boat orchids begin to open their petals at this time.
Idén immár harmadik alkalommal nyílik lehetőségük a látogatóknak tematikus szakvezetések keretében megcsodálni a Füvészkert orchidea házát, melyeket az orchidea gyűjtemény kurátora tart.
A helyszín miatt korlátozott létszámmal (max. 15 fő/alkalom) lehet részt venni a szakvezetéseken.

A program belépője 4.000 Ft/fő – tartalmazza a füvészkerti belépőjegyet is -, amit a szakvezetések előtt, a Füvészkert pénztárában tudnak megváltani.
