We only have one Earth, let's take care of it!

In the SZTE Botanical Garden, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we are announcing an environmental and nature knowledge quiz for elementary school students. The purpose of the competition is to draw attention to the values of our planet and the importance of preserving it in connection with Earth Day. The playful contest is realized with the cooperation of several institutions. The teams can find the stations at different points in the garden, where they must find their way around using a map. At the locations, in addition to the Füvészkert, the employees of the Environmental Nonprofit Kft., Szeged Waterworks, SZTE Tudástár, Mondolo and Csemete Egyesület are waiting for the competitors. Each institution prepares its own set of topics and puzzles, however, adapting to the spirit of the place, the flora and knowledge of plants will be at the center.

What the contestants can expect: selective waste collection, water tasks, testing of knowledge about protected plants and domestic forests, the relationship between plants and animals. For the teams to perform successfully, not only material knowledge is important, creativity, skill, speed and the cooperation of the team members will also be necessary. We encourage everyone to participate. The most important thing is interest in the topic and openness. The teams with the most points will receive a gift package.

We welcome applications from teams of four: two 3rd graders and two 4th graders can form a team. Please pay attention to this when applying!

Registration deadline: April 13, 2022 (Wednesday).

Date of the contest: April 23, 2022 (Saturday) 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Entry to the Botanical Garden is free of charge for the team and 2 accompanying persons.

All participating teams are guaranteed to leave with lasting experiences and knowledge.
